Rangers injury news as Michael Beale shares update on Danilo after incident v St Johnstone
Rangers manager Michael Beale has confirmed that Danilo will have an operation on the fractured cheekbone he sustained against St Johnstone.
The summer signing picked up the knock as he scored his club’s opening goal in their 2-0 win on Saturday (16 September).
Danilo’s attacker Rabbi Matondo also found the back of the net in the Scottish Premiership victory at McDiarmid Park.

“It is never nice as a teammate to see a fellow player break his cheekbone,” said Beale, as quoted by the official Rangers website.
“It is a fracture in the top part of his face, and he is away to have that operation and hopefully will get some good news in terms of the timescale.”

Untimely
It really is a shame for Danilo, who was very brave when putting his header goalwards to break the deadlock in Perth. Unfortunately he now looks set for a spell on the sidelines, much to the anguish and frustration of his manager.
With three goals from his 10 appearances in blue since arriving in the summer, the striker will perhaps have wanted a better record, and now frustratingly he won’t have the opportunity to fix that anytime soon.
Fans, his teammates and his manager will be keen to have the player back on the pitch as soon as possible, but for now all they can hope is that the operation is a success.
It comes at a key period for the club, who are trying their best to close the gap on rivals Celtic, while their European journey is just about to get underway, with Real Betis up first in the Europa League.
