Michael Beale could face sack as Rangers manager if they don’t beat St Johnstone

Michael Beale could face the sack as Rangers manager if they fail to beat St Johnstone in Saturday’s lunch-time kick off, according to Fraser Wilson.

The Gers have lost their last two games and Beale is under huge pressure for his job, with the club reportedly approaching Graham Potter and Kevin Muscat about replacing him.

It was defeat in this fixture last year that sealed the fate of Giovanni van Bronckhorst and according to the Daily Record’s Saturday jury (16 September), a similar result could see similar consequences for Beale.

Rangers

“Defeat in Perth was beginning of the end for Gio van Bronckhorst last November and another loss today could have similar consequences,” he said.

“Rangers now have a really favourable run of fixtures domestically and they have to grasp chance to turn season around.”

Simple

It’s really simple for Rangers and Beale on Saturday afternoon – win and build from there.

Anything but a win is a bad result for Rangers in most league games, but considering the current position we’re in and the fact Beale is being bullish about things we need to start seeing results.

A scrappy 1-0 win may not change the fans’ perception of him quickly but it will at least get points on the board and change the morale around the club heading into the Europa League clash with Real Betis on Thursday.

We can’t afford anything but a win today and if Beale can’t deliver that, then it should be quite clear to everyone who has anything to do with Rangers that he isn’t the right man for the job.

It would be a waste of a summer but we can’t let bad results go constantly or we’ll end up with nothing to play for before Christmas again like we has last season.
