Kris Boyd wowed by ‘unbelievable’ James Tavernier moment in Rangers win v St Johnstone
Rangers captain James Tavernier played in an “unbelievable” cross for his club’s opening goal in their 2-0 win against St Johnstone.
The right-back assisted Danilo’s goal in the 16th minute of the Scottish Premiership clash in Perth on Saturday (16 September).
Danilo’s fellow attacker Rabbi Matondo added a second in the 79th minute of the match at McDiarmid Park after coming off the bench.

“Liam Gordon takes ages to get back for St Johnstone but from a Rangers point of view, it is a good counter-attack,” Boyd said live on Sky Sports Main Event (16 September, 2:36pm).
“Tavernier does what he does, whips in an unbelievable ball and I must say, it is a great header.”

Super goal
It was a brilliant cross from Tavernier and a brilliant header from Danilo, who was unfortunately substituted not long after his goal as he picked up a knock to his head while scoring.
Far too often the Gers have relied on goals from their captain-fantastic, but manager Michael Beale will be delighted that one of his summer signings, and one of his attackers, scored on this occasion.
The man in the dugout will also be thrilled that Matondo’s resurgence has continued, and also thrilled at his club’s professional display.
The pressure on Beale remains amid some poor results from his side, but this 2-0 victory will definitely ease that pressure.
The Ibrox outfit performed admirably at both ends of the pitch, scoring two goals and keeping a clean sheet, which will really please Beale.
They can now take confidence from the win when they host Spanish side Real Betis in Europa League action on Thursday (21 September).
In other Rangers news, Simon Jordan has shared a “could get worse” Beale verdict live on talkSPORT.
