Rangers: BBC journalist makes ‘significant’ Michael Beale admission as patience ‘running thin’ at Ibrox

Patience is “running thin” amongst the Rangers fans on Michael Beale and his summer signings, according to George O’Neill.

Writing on the BBC Sport website on 14 September (05:35pm), the journalist said the “significant outlay” in the transfer window is yet to translate into performances on the pitch.

He added that the Gers manager has stressed that his new signings need time to gel, but that there is “only so much time that you get in the Ibrox hot seat”, with patience amongst the fanbase “running thin”.

“The significant outlay in the transfer market has not yet translated to performances on the pitch, with Rangers’ best XI unclear,” said O’Neill.

“Beale has stressed the need to give his new signings time to settle and gel, but there is only so much time that you get in the Ibrox hot seat, and patience amongst the fanbase is running thin.”

Time is running out

It’s pretty clear that time is probably running out for Beale at Rangers and he really needs to pick up some victories quickly to keep his job.

The Light Blues have had an extremely unconvincing start to the season, having lost two games in the SPFL and being knocked out of the Champions League in the qualifying rounds against PSV.

The Gers manager is also under pressure to get the best out of his new signings after the board backed him over the summer to bring in the players he wanted.

Rangers

It feels as though a victory against St Johnstone on Saturday (16 September) is an absolute must for Beale against a side that hasn’t won a game in the league this season.

It’s never an easy job and results are always expected to come quickly at Ibrox, but he has been afforded the chance to turn it around and that has to start this weekend.

In other Rangers news, the club tried to sign an in-form midfielder over the summer.
