Four Lads blast ‘enormous waste’ as Rangers CEO stance on new director of football emerges
Four Lads Had A Dream has raged about the transfer spending at Rangers and the fact CEO James Bisgrove isn’t sure if he wants a new director of football.
Writing on its website on 14 September, the official club partner said there has been an “enormous waste” in terms of transfers at Ibrox over the past two summers.
It also took aim at Bisgrove for there not being “any sort of succession planning” as the Gers chief isn’t sure if he wants a director of football or not.

“We have a manager whose plan simply isn’t translating onto the pitch and whose marquee signings are sitting on the bench after a handful of games,” it said.
“We have seen enormous waste in terms of our transfer spend over two summers and with a bloated wage-bill still being carried.
“We also have no sporting director or director of football to oversee a mid-term strategy or any sort of succession planning and a CEO who isn’t sure whether he wants one or not.”
Need a plan
There is no doubt that Rangers need to develop a better plan moving forwards as the recruitment just hasn’t been good enough for a while now.
While it is important that the manager is backed to bring in the players he wants, there has to be some kind of structure in place to ensure that they fit the club.
The uncertainty from Bisgrove about whether or not he wants a director of football isn’t going to help matters because surely it’s a simple yes or no situation.

There is still obviously plenty of time for the new signings to prove themselves at Ibrox, but there are areas in the side where the Blues still look a little bit short.
Beale is going to have to find a way to get the best out of summer recruits, though, as his fate may rely on those players being a hit in Glasgow following his spending spree in the latest transfer window.
In other Rangers news, the club tried to sign an in-form midfielder over the summer.
