Fabrizio Romano shares Bailey Rice transfer update as Rangers agree terms

Rangers have agreed a contract extension with talented midfielder Bailey Rice, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist tweeted on Tuesday (12 September) that the 16-year-old has signed a new deal to keep him at Ibrox until May 2026.

He said there were a number of clubs that showed an interest in the highly-rated Scotland youth international, but that he has decided to stay in Glasgow.

Relief

It will come as a huge relief to all those associated with Rangers to hear that Rice has decided to commit his future to the club.

The teenager only signed for the Light Blues from Motherwell last summer after he rejected a professional contract at Fir Park in favour of a move to Ibrox.

The midfielder made his debut for the Gers at Livingston in February after coming on as a late substitute to become the youngest post-war player to have played for the club.

There had been much speculation around whether or not he would remain in Glasgow after a number of sides have been keeping an eye on him in recent times.

But they will be delighted to have tied him down to a long-term deal and will be hoping that he can go on to have a successful career at the club in the years to come.

In other Rangers news, a journalist has revealed there has been a fallout of “epic proportions” behind the scenes at Ibrox.
