Ange Postecoglou shares Kevin Muscat verdict live on air amid Rangers links

Ange Postecoglou has raved about Kevin Muscat live on air after he has been linked with a move to Rangers in recent weeks.

Speaking on talkSPORT on 12 September (11:47am), the Tottenham boss said his fellow Australian is doing “very well” in his role as manager of Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan.

Postecoglou then tipped the 50-year-old to also make the move over to the UK despite the Daily Record reporting on 5 September that a Gers club source said there is “no truth whatsoever” in the reports linking him with a switch to Ibrox.

“Kevin is a good man and he’s doing very well in Japan,” said Postecoglou. “Watch out for him, he’ll be another Aussie that comes across here and breaks down some barriers.”

No surprise

It doesn’t come as too much of a surprise to hear Postecoglou give high praise to Muscat, who replaced his compatriot at Yokohama in 2021.

Having won the J1 League in 2022 and currently sitting two points off top spot, the Aussie is likely to soon be linked with a number of jobs.

Any potential suitors will be hoping Muscat can have as much success as Postecoglou had previously with Celtic before going on to have a solid start to life with Spurs.

The Rangers job is a hot topic at the moment in time after Michael Beale has come under criticism following the recent defeats to PSV and in the Old Firm.

Although the club rubbished the links to Muscat, the situation could quickly change if the Gers boss picks up any more damaging losses in the coming weeks.

In other Rangers news, Chris Jack has already shared an exit development about one new signing.
