New summer signing from Chelsea Dujon Sterling was among the worst Rangers performers in the 1-0 defeat against Celtic on 3 September.
Despite Ridvan Yilmaz being on the bench, Michael Beale made the shocking decision to include the London-born defender in his eleven.
As many expected, his afternoon ended up being an underwhelming one and he was taken off at the 65-minute mark for Yilmaz.
Per Sofascore, not only was Dowell one of the worst-rated players on the pitch, his stats also did not make for very good reading.
He attempted three dribbles all game, an important attribute of an attacking full-back, and failed to complete even a single one.
He also lost most of his attempted ground duels – which shows that he was not able to create impact defensively either.

The 23-year-old did not attempt a single cross all game and lost possession on seven occasions so Beale certainly cannot have been pleased with his performance.
Yilmaz, on the other hand, despite playing only 25 minutes, ended up completing two key passes and also attempted four crosses in comparison to Dowell’s none.
The Turkey international even made an important clearance so if Borna Barisic is unavailable next time, Beale has to play Yilmaz instead of Dowell.
It remains to be seen if Beale is at the club on the other side of the international break, but in case he is, he’s got to axe Sterling.
