Hugh Keevins shares Rangers ‘meltdown’ verdict amid off-field antics this week
Rangers are in a “meltdown” following the off-field antics since the defeat to Celtic on 3 September, according to Hugh Keevins.
Writing on the Daily Record website, the journalist highlighted the sack talk surrounding Michael Beale, Kemar Roofe’s deleted social media post and the Gers’ letter to the SFA about VAR as a sign that things aren’t quite right at Ibrox.
He said all of those instances have led him to believe a “meltdown” is currently taking place at the club on the back of the defeats to PSV and Celtic.

“Beale is, temporarily or otherwise, on Death Row,” said Keevins. “Rangers have had to publicly deny interest in another manager, Kevin Muscat of Yokohama.
“Kemar Roofe went on social media to provide pictorial evidence to prove he was robbed of a goal – and was lambasted online by Rangers’ supporters for doing so. And the club wrote to the SFA to query VAR and all its works. A meltdown by any other name.”
Need a game
It feels like it was so long ago that Rangers actually played a game of football, even though it has just been a week since they lost in the Old Firm clash.
But so much has happened and there has been an awful lot of talk this week about Beale, new signings and other issues that it feels like an age since they actually stepped out onto the park.
There are still six days to go, so the noise around the Gers boss and the overall unrest will probably continue throughout the week until the game at St. Johnstone on 16 September.

But it does feel as though there has been a meltdown of sorts because all anyone can think about is the hammering in the Champions League and the disappointing performance against Celtic.
The players seriously need to get back out on the field as soon as possible so that they can put things right and do their talking where it really matters.
In other Rangers news, Chris Jack has already shared an exit development about one new signing.
