Glen Kamara quotes after joining Leeds United show Rangers were right to move on
Glen Kamara has said that joining Leeds United from Rangers “was not as complicated” as some people may think.
The Finland international officially signed for Leeds on 31 August, a day before the transfer deadline, bringing an end to weeks of intense rumours.
Kamara had been ostracised from Rangers’ first team by boss Michael Beale, but he is glad the move to Elland Road eventually went through.

“To be honest, a move like that is not as complicated as people sometimes think. Of course it can be that sometimes,” Kamara told Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat [5 September].
In Kamara’s defence, the fact he was shut out this season means he was not exactly going to be devastated about leaving Ibrox.
At the same time, that he found the move ‘uncomplicated’ shows that it was time for both the player and club to move on.
As the days ticked down towards the transfer deadline last week, it seemed more and more likely that a Kamara’s exit would not go through.

From looking a certainty one day to potentially being off the next, it is hard to know exactly what was going on behind the scenes.
It was a rather sad end to the midfielder’s time at Ibrox, but both he and Rangers can draw a line under it all.
Ultimately, Rangers got what they wanted as they raised around £5million for a player that cost them a five-figure sum in January 2019.
There is nothing complicated about that.
