Todd Cantwell ‘loving it’ at Rangers, will be central to turning poor start around
Todd Cantwell is “loving it” at Rangers and will be “key” to the club turning things around after a poor start under Michael Beale, according to Dean Jones.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT (6 September) the former Eurosport journalist said the former Norwich midfielder is the “guy that brings it all together” at Ibrox following his January arrival and is going to “score important goals” this season.
The 25-year-old finished last season in fine form but hasn’t been at the same level as the Light Blues have struggled to start the campaign, and apologised to fans on social media following the Old Firm loss to Celtic at the weekend.

Jones said: “I feel like Cantwell is the guy that brings all of this together. He’s certainly a player that the fans are looking to, that they can rely on to help them through difficult moments.
“He’s going to score some big goals throughout the season and I think it goes without saying that he will be one of the most important players for this season.
“He’s loving it. I think he loves the responsibility and loves the fact it’s such a big club. He’ll be key to turning things around for them.”
Kickstart
Towards the end of last season that assessment of Cantwell would have made a lot of sense but even he and Nico Raskin have been below their normal levels to begin the new campaign.
A major rebuild over the summer was obviously going to take some time to get firing on all cylinders for Michael Beale but so far it has barely got going.
The manager is now under pressure of losing his job after another Old Firm defeat, off the back of a thrashing in Europe, and fans are already starting to fear another season going by with missed opportunities.

Cantwell is going to need to prove to be key to the recovery sooner rather than later and hope that it inspires some more of his teammates to follow suit.
A run of strong results over the next couple of months could get the entire year back on track, but with even the better games so far suggesting the newer arrivals aren’t yet clicking that is easier said than done.
Beale’s first signing as Rangers boss is likely to be a central character for the foreseeable future either way, but some of his best would certainly not go amiss right now.
In other Rangers news, the chances of a sacking have already become real as replacements are lined up in two places.
