Rangers board could do Michael Beale U-turn at Ibrox, ‘could spell the end’ for manager

The Rangers board could make a U-turn on their support of Michael Beale if results on the field don’t improve, according to Gavin Berry.

The Daily Record journalist said on Thursday (7 September) that there are plenty of people associated with the Gers who would be happy to see the Englishman relieved of his duties despite the news that the club’s hierarchy are set to stick by the Light Blues boss for now.

He added that nothing will change before the next fixture against St. Johnstone on 16 September, but he warned that if matters do get worse, then it “could spell the end” for Beale at Ibrox.

Rangers

Has to get better

There is simply no doubt about it, things have to improve quickly at Rangers if Beale wants to keep hold of his job after the recent results.

The Gers manager has faced criticism like he will have never been used to before this week and that won’t go away until he starts winning in some of the big games.

After being knocked out in the Champions League qualifiers following the 5-1 defeat against PSV, the defeat to Celtic was exactly what he didn’t need.

But that’s where the Englishman currently finds himself and surely the only way is up for him now after the pressure has well and truly been ramped up.

He will appreciate that the board have reportedly backed him for the moment in time, but there is no doubt that they won’t hesitate to change their mind if he doesn’t start picking up victories.
