Michael Beale Rangers sack timeline emerges after Ibrox ‘fan fury’ following loss v Celtic
Rangers manager Michael Beale has a huge few weeks ahead of him, with the boss under huge pressure in the Ibrox dugout.
Such pressure comes after his club were knocked out of the Champions League in a play-off tie against PSV, losing 7-3 on aggregate.
That was immediately followed by a miserable 1-0 home loss to fierce rivals Celtic in the first Old Firm derby of the season. It leaves the Gers sitting fourth in the Scottish Premiership table, already four points behind their old enemies.

For now, however, Beale is safe from the sack, with Rangers chairman John Bennett resisting calls to remove the boss during the international break despite “fan fury” after the Celtic loss [Daily Record, 6 September].
But that backing must be repaid by the manager, with the Scottish publication adding that Beale must immediately deliver an upturn in results when club football resumes.
Rangers get back underway with a league trip to St. Johnstone on Saturday 16 September, with Real Betis visiting Ibrox in the Europa League group stages five days later.

Further Scottish Premiership home meetings with Motherwell and Aberdeen arrive this month, as does a League Cup quarter-final tie with Livingston.
The Daily Record (6 September) added that Beale must successfully navigate the club through that tricky period if he has any hope of keeping supporters and, more importantly the powers that be at Ibrox, on his side.
Beale will have been expecting heavy pressure after his side’s recent results, with such scrutiny simply unavoidable when it comes to managing Rangers.
In other Rangers news, a Gers swoop for a free agent has been mooted, with the player capable of filling the gap left by Ryan Kent.
