Kenny Miller outlines what Rangers must do as Michael Beale verdict shared

Kenny Miller believes Michael Beale can recover at Rangers despite the disappointing results at the start of the season.

Speaking on Clyde 1’s Superscoreboard Show on 5 September, the BBC pundit said he understands the frustrations of the Gers fans, but he insisted the Gers boss deserves a chance to turn things around.

He added that the performances “have to improve” and that the Light Blues must go “pretty much unscathed” over the next few games on the back of the defeats to PSV and Celtic.

“I absolutely think he can recover,” said Miller. “I understand the outcry and the frustrations, it’s there for all to see that things are not going as well as everyone would like.

“But the only way you turn it around is by winning games at that club. The performances need to improve and the personnel within it need to improve, it’s not just the manager. Yes, he might have to shoulder responsibility for the signings, but it’s up to individuals to take the responsibility to go onto the field and perform.

“It’s really important in the next phase of games for Rangers that they pretty much go unscathed.”

Difficult

It’s a difficult one because success is the requirement at a club of the size of Rangers and the recent results suggest Beale may not be able to deliver that.

It’s completely unacceptable for the Gers to lose two of their opening four SPFL games after suffering defeat in the league on just four occasions last season, where they still finished seven points behind Celtic.

After the Light Blues boss has been allowed to bring in the players he wants, the board will have been expecting a better start to the campaign.

Rangers

Although it’s not a disaster to be playing in the Europa League, the defeat to PSV in the Champions League playoffs showed just how far they are off the standard they need to be at currently.

It’s unlikely a decision will be made just yet on the Englishman’s future, but if the Gers do suffer any more damaging defeats after the international break, the board won’t hesitate to pull the trigger.

In other Rangers news, Chris Jack has shared how Michael Beale will be done as the Gers boss if he doesn’t sort an issue out.
