Michael Beale now in ‘severe’ situation at Rangers as sack talk emerges – Graham Spiers

Michael Beale is now in a “severe” situation as Rangers boss following the defeat to Celtic on Sunday (3 September), according to Graham Spiers.

The Times journalist tweeted on 3 September after the Gers’ 1-0 loss in the Old Firm that the performance “speaks volumes” about the summer signings at Ibrox.

He said that the result will now ensure there is “severe heat” on the Light Blues boss on the back of the heavy defeat they suffered against PSV in midweek.

Pressure

There is no doubt about it, Beale will never have experienced pressure during his whole time in football like he’s going to be facing over the course of the next few days.

The Rangers manager knew this was a game he absolutely couldn’t afford to lose and his side, despite plenty of effort, were severely lacking in quality.

It’s a tricky one because it’s still so early in the season, but that’s two SPFL defeats already and they have also been knocked out of the Champions League following the defeat to PSV in qualifying.

This latest setback just isn’t any defeat either, it’s against their arch-rivals, who have now opened up a four-point gap on the Gers after their victory at Ibrox.

Although the international break will hand Beale an opportunity to regroup and work on some things with his squad, they would’ve probably preferred to get back out on the pitch quickly to try and put things right after a damaging defeat.
