Michael Beale shares Rangers transfer news live on Sky Sports
Michael Beale says Rangers have “no interest” in allowing Ben Davies to depart Ibrox on loan this summer with the defender set to remain in his plans.
Davies is yet to feature for Rangers so far this season, having suffered an injury early on in pre-season, but has completed his recovery and may now feature in the first Old Firm derby of the season on Sunday (1 September).
The 28-year-old’s future was likely to decide whether or not the Ibrox club carried out any further incoming business before the transfer deadline, with a potential loan switch creating the opportunity for further additions [The Fourth Official, 1 September].

Speaking to Sky Sports News on Friday (1 September), Beale said: “We don’t have any interest in loaning a player out of Ben Davies’ age and experience. He came into the club last year for a good transfer fee and unless we’re going to recoup that or Ben wants away, he’s a player that I’m working with here.
“In my first 19/20 games here he was ever-present. He had an injury over the summer but he’s fit and ready for selection right now.”
That’s that
You can never say never in the transfer window, especially on deadline day but it seems as though an incredibly busy summer at Ibrox in terms of new arrivals has come to an end with Beale’s revolution complete.
Davies has been good but not exactly incredible since joining the Glasgow side and a permanent move would have likely been helpful for all parties this summer, especially the Light Blues as it would have allowed them to sign the left-footed defender Beale has chased.

But Beale’s reminder of Davies’ form last season should act as some encouragement that the Rangers boss believes the defender is capable of having a positive impact at Ibrox this season, despite his lack of game time early in the campaign.
Loaning the 28-year-old out this summer would have acted as nothing more than a short-term fix for the Gers and they are much better off attempting to get some value out of their investment on the pitch, than having to pay some of his wages for him to play elsewhere.
In other Rangers news, one attacker could make a late switch away from Ibrox this summer
