Michael Beale sack worry emerges at Rangers with ‘significant’ development on the cards
A defeat for Rangers against Celtic will ramp up the pressure on Michael Beale on the back of the PSV humbling, according to Heather Dewar.
On page 72 of the Scottish Daily Mail on 1 September, the journalist said a loss in the Old Firm clash at Ibrox on Saturday (2 September) could prove “significant” for the future of the Gers boss even at this early stage in the season.
She said that he would, however, gain plaudits from the Light Blues fans if he can pull off a victory against the Hoops in what could be “one of the biggest weeks of his career”.

Make or break
Although it sounds ridiculous at this point in the season, it really is starting to feel like it could be make-or-break time for Beale at Rangers.
It didn’t come as a huge surprise to see the Gers beaten by an excellent PSV side on the night, but the manner of the defeat spoke volumes about where the squad is currently at in terms of quality.
Celtic, meanwhile, haven’t been entirely convincing in their performances so far this season, so it could be a real opportunity to put a marker down and claim back some of the confidence that will have been lost in midweek.

It just feels as though another defeat could really turn up the heat on Beale, as it’s a game he really can’t afford to lose in terms of keeping up squad morale and ensuring they are in the hunt for the SPFL title.
It would provide a huge boost if he can rally his troops and claim a victory because it would ease some of the background noise and strike a blow to the other side of Glasgow.
