Rangers agree multi-million fee to sell Glen Kamara in last-ditch deal, sell-on clause also tied in

Leeds United have agreed a £5million fee with Rangers for Glen Kamara, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

The Rangers-affiliated blog reported on X (31 August) that the Gers have agreed to the deal which included add-ons if Kamara helps Leeds get promoted back to the Premier League and a sell-on clause.

Kamara must now decide if he wants to make the move to the Championship after being frozen out of Michael Beale’s side.

Departed

While Rangers fans will still be suffering following their Champions League exit on Wednesday night (30 August), the news of the added cash from Kamara’s sale could boost their moods, if slightly.

They may also receive a further cash injection in the future if Leeds sell Kamara on at any point, and at just 27 years old he may command a decent fee before the end of his career.

Having the Finnish international off the books will be a real financial boost, especially considering the reduced funds they will receive after failing to reach the UCL group stages.

According to Fabrizio Romano (27 August), Kamara has already accepted a deal from Leeds United, so the deal may come through quickly.

Rangers

Leeds boss Daniel Farke will be keen to add the experienced midfielder into his squad to help them get back to winning ways after their surprise exit to Salford City in the EFL Cup.

For Beale, he will be happy to have a squad of devoted players in his side. Kamara made his intentions clear and has been training away from the rest of the Rangers and has not made an appearance for the Gers so far this season.

Kamara may relish the chance to return to English football and the chance to go on a promotion push with one of the division’s most exciting sides.

In a move that seemingly suits all parties, it looks like the end of Kamara’s Ranger chapter.
