Aston Villa chief Tommy Jordan mocks Rangers as Connor Goldson footage emerges v PSV

Aston Villa chief Tommy Jordan has mocked Rangers defender Connor Goldson after footage has emerged showing what he did against PSV.

The 30-year-old played a backpass into his own net past his keeper Jack Butland to cap off what was a shocking night for the Gers in their Champions League qualifier.

TNT Sports tweeted a video of the Englishman’s own goal, with Jordan, who is Villa’s Communications Director, responding to the post by saying: “This is the content you love to see.” He then included several laughing emojis.

Embarrassing

It was an incredibly embarrassing moment for Goldson as his error pretty much summed up Rangers’ performance on the night in Eindhoven.

From start to finish, PSV were by the better side and deserved their comfortable victory, with the scoreline potentially being even worse for the Gers if it hadn’t been for Butland in between the sticks.

Some people may believe it perhaps isn’t the most professional thing for a Premier League club’s director to make such a post, but the defender is there to be shot at following a mistake of that magnitude.

Rangers

Even though the tie was clearly over by that stage, you can’t afford to be doing that in European football and not expect to be criticised for it.

The Light Blues will now play in the Europa League this season and Michael Beale will be hoping to put the result against the Dutch club behind him and that there are much better nights ahead for his side in that competition.

In other Rangers news, Ally McCoist was far from impressed with what one player did against PSV.
