Rangers defender Ben Davies unlikely to be risked this week – Injury Expert

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...

Rangers defender Ben Davies might not play this week as he’s still recovering from an injury sustained last season, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert also factors in the fact that he’s linked with a transfer means that he might not feature again for the club.

The 28-year-old is yet to feature for Rangers this season but was spotted in training in the second week of August so appears to be on the right track towards recovery

Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said, “Featuring this week seems unlikely so he could miss the next two games and he’s also linked with an exit.

The next steps to bring him back will be to see how he responded to training and then, if he wasn’t already, involve him in full training and assess again.

At that point, the next steps are multiple involvements in training which leads to bounce matches and building up match fitness gradually.

Rangers are in the market for a new centre-back so if they bring in someone before the deadline, they will let the former Liverpool defender leave.

Davies has not been at his best since his move to Ibrox and he’s good to have as a backup option at best for Michael Beale.

However, if there is demand for his services, it makes sense for the club to cash in on his services.
