Nnamdi Ofoborh reacts as Rangers exit now confirmed at Ibrox
Nnamdi Ofoborh has broken his silence to thank his “Rangers family” days after his release from Ibrox was confirmed on Tuesday 29 August.
The 23-year-old left the Ibrox club to pursue a career elsewhere after a heart issue prevented him from making a single appearance for the Light Blues after making the switch from Bournemouth in 2021, despite visiting multiple cardiac specialists.
Ofobohrh couldn’t have asked for worse luck after making the switch up to Glasgow and has opted to attempt to pursue a career away from Ibrox, but he has been left disappointed that he wasn’t able to have the impact he wished for in the Scottish Premiership.

Breaking his silence through an Instagram story on Tuesday (29 August), he wrote: “To my Rangers family, coaches, staff, teammates and fans I thank you. For your support over the past two years.
“I will never forget my time up there, an experience that will stay with me forever. I also apologise as I wasn’t able to help in the ways that I wanted to and that hurts me the most. All the best this season Rangers. You’ll always have me as a supporter.”
So unlucky
Ofoborh has been so unlucky since he made the switch to Ibrox in 2021 and it is heartbreaking to see such a young player forced away from football at such a young age, but it is truly for his own good to step aside.
With heart issues, there is such a delicate risk with trying to continue to play and it may well be that the 23-year-old is forced to curtail his entire playing career early just to ensure that he remains healthy off of the field as well as on it.

What is clear to see is how much the support he has received while in Glasgow has meant to him during what must have been such a difficult time for the midfielder, with everyone who is a part of the Ibrox side offering their support to him.
While the Light Blues fans never got to see him pull on their shirt, despite Ofoborh being a part of the squad under three different permanent managers, he will always have the full support of the Gers fanbase.
