James Tavernier stuns Kenny Millar with Rangers goal v Ross County on Sky Sports
Kenny Millar was left stunned by James Tavernier’s stunning goal for Rangers against Ross County on Saturday (26 August).
Reacting to the Gers captain’s strike on co-commentary for Sky Sports (12:56pm), the pundit was wowed by the “incredible” finish to put Michael Beale’s side 2-0 ahead.
The right-back’s finish in the 26th minute came after forward Kemar Roofe opened the scoring just four minutes earlier to put the Light Blues firmly in control in Dingwall.

‘It’s an incredible goal,” said Millar. “Look at the technique, how many times have we seen this from James Tavernier from dead-ball situations? He just glides forward and guides it up and over Ross Laidlaw into the top corner, it’s a wonderful finish.”
No surprise
It shouldn’t really come as much of a surprise anymore to see Tavernier score another incredible goal in a Rangers shirt after it’s become a regular fixture during his time in Glasgow.
Over the years, the Gers skipper has scored a number of hugely important strikes with finishes that perhaps haven’t stood out, but his technique in and around the box should never be questioned.
While he is a solid defender and helps lead the backline superly, his influence at the other end of the pitch is absolutely massive and there are very few fullbacks that possess a similar record in front of goal to him, having scored 104 times in 408 appearances for the Light Blues.

This is yet another strike that will be added to the catalogue of wonder goals from the 31-year-old and Rangers fans will be hoping there are still plenty more to come after he has been linked with a move away from the club.
His importance to the team is absolutely massive and it’s when he turns up in moments like this that he really backs up why it’s crucial he remains at Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, an SPFL side has made an offer for a player Beale wants to sign.
