Graham Smyth shares update on ‘weird’ Glen Kamara to Leeds United transfer
Graham Smyth says the transfer saga involving Leeds United and Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is a “weird one” due to the Whites’ fluctuating interest.
The Scottish Sun reported that Leeds were on the verge of completing a £5.5million deal for the Finland international on Tuesday [22 August].
However, Gers boss Michael Beale denied having any knowledge of a bid and Kamara remains at Ibrox with a week of the window left to go.
Asked on Twitter on Thursday [24 August] if he can still see a Leeds move going through for Kamara, Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Smyth said: “Weird one. They were in, out, in again and now a bit quiet. I’d do it. Not too pricey and a solid player.”
Over to Leeds
A separate update by Dean Jones, via GIVEMESPORT, suggested Leeds were readying a bid for Kamara to be tabled on either Thursday [24 August] or Friday [25 August].
Should that be the case, the 27-year-old’s future could become a little clearer in the coming hours.
Rangers clearly want rid of the player given that he is currently training away from the first team, while Leeds will consider it a bargain deal if the £5.5m speculation is anything to go by.

But if terms cannot be agreed – and there is nothing to suggest that will be the case at this point – Kamara faces the prospect of remaining at Ibrox until at least January.
It will be interesting to see what approach Beale takes should that be the case – integrate the Arsenal academy graduate back into the squad, or effectively leave him to rot.
Hopefully for all involved that is not the case, but that all depends on Leeds and how much they table.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have reportedly reversed a transfer decision ahead of the window closing next week.
