Josh McPake could be next to exit Rangers with one departure already sealed this week

Rangers forward Josh McPake could be the next player to head out of the door at Ibrox, according to the Daily Record.

The newspaper reported on page 40 of its print edition on 25 August that the Gers academy graduate may be set to leave the club after a mutual agreement was reached with midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh to end his contract on 24 August.

This comes as Michael Beale looks to revamp his Rangers squad this summer, with 21-year-old McPake potentially set for a similar exit to Ofoborh.

Not messing around

It looks as though Beale is certainly not messing around this summer as he appears to be taking a rather ruthless approach towards some of the fringe players.

The Rangers boss will be desperate to eke out of every possible penny he can to be able to add new additions to his squad that could compete for a starting spot this season.

The Glasgow Times reported on 24 August that the Light Blues have offered McPake a fresh pay-off deal to end his contract a year earlier, so he can find a new club for himself.

That comes despite interest from League One clubs in taking him on loan, showing a clear indication that his days at Ibrox are numbered.

The winger hasn’t had much opportunity to impress with the Gers after making just one senior appearance and spending last season on loan in the Championship with Queen’s Park, where he scored four goals and laid on three assists in 33 matches.

In other Rangers news, an SPFL side has made an offer for a player Beale wants to sign.
