Done deal as Rangers agree terms for James Taylor appointment at Ibrox
Rangers have confirmed the appointment of James Taylor as the club’s new chief finance officer.
The Gers announced the new behind-the-scenes hire on their official website on Thursday (24 August).
Taylor is a replacement for Kenny Barclay, who left the position earlier this summer (Daily Record).

“I am honoured to be joining the new executive team here at Rangers Football Club as Chief Finance Officer, and I am looking forward to supporting the delivery of the strategic vision that James Bisgrove and the board have for our club,” Taylor said.
“Being from Glasgow, I am acutely aware of just how much this club means to our supporters and our incredible heritage of success.”
Football runs in the family
Taylor is no stranger to the football industry, which runs in his blood. He is the son of the late David Taylor, the former SFA chief executive and UEFA Events chief executive.
In their announcement, Rangers said how Taylor brings nearly 20 years of experience to Ibrox, having worked across financial services, technology, and the hospitality sector.
It marks another important for hire for Rangers, who brought in Zeb Jacobs as academy director back on 23 June (official website).

Michael Beale has, of course, himself been busy with no fewer than nine signings made to his first-team squad during an extremely busy summer transfer window.
Taylor will be hoping for an immediate boost to the Ibrox coffers with Rangers qualifying for the group stages of the Champions League.
They drew the first leg of their play-off tie with PSV Eindhoven 2-2 at Ibrox and face the return fixture in the Netherlands on Wednesday (30 August).
In other Rangers news, Martin O’Neill has said Celtic will benefit if the Gers qualify for the Champions League.
