Celtic make bid to sign Luis Palma after Rangers boss Michael Beale made winger one of his transfer ‘priorities’

Rangers boss Michael Beale could be set to miss out on one of his primary targets after Celtic have made a bid for Aris Thessaloniki winger Luis Palma, according to The Daily Mail.

The newspaper reported on its Mail Plus website on 23 August that the Hoops have made a £3.5million offer to sign the Honduran international.

Online news outlet The 4th Official reported via its Patreon on 18 August that the Gers manager has earmarked the 23-year-old winger as one of his transfer “priorities” after the club have chased him for “a long time”.

Blow

It would be a huge blow to Beale if he misses out on Palma this summer after Rangers’ interest in the winger was first reported back in April.

It would be even more disappointing for the Gers boss to see him join arch-rivals Celtic as he would improve their squad this season and could perhaps provide a psychological edge.

The last thing he would want to see is the Honduran lining up against the Light Blues when the two clubs face each other on 3 September at Ibrox for the first time this season.

That could potentially force the club to put a bid forward for Palma, who has also attracted strong interest from a number of sides across Europe, including Watford and Anderlecht.

The winger is already on his way towards building on the 13 goals and eight assists he registered last season after recording two goals and two assists for the Greek side in their Europa Conference League qualifiers this summer.
