Rangers could bank £25m in next week through Glen Kamara and Champions League
Rangers could be in for a cash boost of up to £25million if they secure Champions League qualification and sell wantaway midfielder Glen Kamara across the next week.
The Sun reported (22 August) that Kamara is set to seal a £5.5million move to Championship side Leeds United, while the Daily Record claimed (15 August) that the Gers could receive up to £25million from Champions League group stage qualification alone.
Rangers can expect at least £25million if both possibilities become reality, which could go a long way in alleviating any financial pressure from the side.

The Gers are guaranteed European group-stage football this season even if they lose to PSV in the second leg as the loser will qualify for the Europa League.
However, the benefits of reaching Europe’s top competition, both financially and for everyone at the club, are unparalleled. Rangers will want to put all their eggs in the European basket on Wednesday (30 August) as they face off against PSV in the second leg.
Elsewhere, Daniel Farke’s Leeds look close to taking Kamara off Rangers’ books, with Last Word On Sport reporting (23 August) the deal could be finalised “in the coming days”.
The gears seem to be in motion for the club to feel a real cash injection after a summer of spending. But how will this benefit Rangers going forward?

Much pressure is on Michael Beale and the new signings to perform this season after the club invested heavily. While many players have departed the club, notably Fashion Sakala, Antonio Colak, Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos, the new signings have felt the sting of underperforming from Gers fans and pundits alike.
The club hierarchy will feel satisfied that their investment in the new players has paid off at least this far, while the confidence boost from achieving group-stage football could do wonders for their on-the-pitch performances.
While there will still be pressure to perform in the league and push Celtic all the way, at least one of the season’s biggest aims will have been achieved.
Kamara’s exit will some another background issue at Ibrox. The Finnish international has been training separately from the rest of the Rangers side and has not appeared for the club this season. Once he has left, Beale will be able to work with a squad of committed players.
While all these benefits remain hypothetical for now, optimism is slowly returning to Ibrox. However, it could all too quickly evaporate.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has slammed a Gers star for a “rush of blood” in their PSV clash.
