Rangers finally learn lesson as £5.5m Glen Kamara transfer news emerges

Rangers have been very busy in the transfer window this summer, with Michael Beale bringing several new players to Ibrox.

It means the manager has also been forced to consider plenty of outgoings, the latest of which looks set to be midfielder Glen Kamara.

According to The Scottish Sun, the Finland international is closing in on a £5.5million move to English Championship club Leeds United.

The Whites have also undergone a major reshuffle behind the scenes this summer, with Kamara expected to be the latest arrival under manager Daniel Farke.

Leeds will be getting a hugely experienced midfielder to help in their search for immediate promotion back to the Premier League, while Rangers will be getting a very healthy financial boost through his sale.

The £5.5million fee will represent a huge profit for the Gers, who brought Kamara to Ibrox from Dundee for just £50,000 in 2019.

The 27-year-old has made almost 200 appearances in blue, helping the club clinch the 2020/21 Scottish Premiership title and 2021/22 Scottish Cup.

His expected exit will be in stark contrast to the recent exits of Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent, both of whom left Ibrox earlier this summer upon the expiry of their contracts.

Rangers didn’t receive a single penny for either long-serving player, a mistake they are not making when it comes to Finland ace Kamara.

Not only are the Gers going to sell the midfielder for a substantial fee, but they are also going to make a healthy profit, in what is a double boost for the club.

In other Rangers news, new Championship competition has emerged for one Gers player linked with an Ibrox exit this summer.
