Rangers clearly look into brand new double transfer swoop at Ibrox – Journalist
Rangers have clearly looked into making a double swoop for Millwall defender Jake Cooper and Sam Field of Queens Park Rangers, according to Dean Jones.
The former Eurosport journalist shared his view that he sees the potential new arrivals as wise signings, with links continuing to emerge over the duo.
He did, however, warn that fans will have to wait and see if any moves are made to bring them both to Ibrox, despite the links not potentially exciting anyone.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT on 22 August, Jones said: “They’re not thrilling targets to have, and I don’t think there will be Rangers fans out there doing cartwheels over being linked with players like this. But it’s not the first time Championship players of this type have been linked with Rangers since Michael Beale joined the club.”
He then added: “There have been times when the rumours have turned out to be true or very close. There also have been times when they’ve not caught fire. So, we’ll have to see whether these two can become legitimate transfer options.
“But clearly, they have at least looked into them. And I think that’s wise because they won’t go too far adrift if they’re players of this level and could fit in quite well.”

Looking to finish on a high
It has been a busy transfer window for Rangers, having spent around £14million on nine players so far, and they are still looking to bring in new additions to strengthen the depth of their squad as they look to be competitive in all four competitions.
Rangers have already secured deals for Leon Balogun and Kieran Dowell who spent last season in the Championship and have also seen Todd Cantwell arrive in the last year, as Beale looks to draw on his experience in the English second division.
Typically, players of this level are able to slot into SPFL teams well, given a similar respective level of the leagues, with some top Championship players able to make a huge impact for both Old Firm clubs historically.
A new midfielder is still needed if Glen Kamara leaves as expected, while there is a focus on bringing in a new defender in Cooper as Beale feels his squad lacks depth in the defensive areas despite the summer spending.
In other Rangers news, new Championship contenders have emerged for wantaway Rangers player.
