Rangers: ‘Extremely dangerous’ verdict shared for Champions League clash v PSV

Rangers have an “extremely dangerous” Champions League tie against PSV, according to BBC Scotland journalist Liam McLeod.

The Gers take on the Eredivisie outfit in their Champions League play-off clash after overcoming Servette in the previous round.

The first leg is scheduled for Ibrox on Tuesday (22 August), with the second leg set to take place in the Netherlands next Wednesday (30 August).

“This is an extremely dangerous tie for Beale and his side,” McLeod wrote for BBC Scotland.

“Rangers will hope PSV are so consumed in their quest for revenge that they can repeat last season’s trick.”

Huge clash

It’s safe to say that this is the biggest match of the season so far for both Rangers and PSV, with both clubs desperate to make it to the group stages of the Champions League.

There, they can battle it out against the best clubs in Europe, but they can also receive huge financial rewards, which will help them massively in the long run.

Both of those issues will be on their minds come the first leg clash at Ibrox, where the home side need to be at their very best in order to come away the happier of the two sides.

PSV have got their new season off to a flyer, with the Dutch club sitting joint top of the Eredivisie table with two wins from two.

They also clinched the Johan Cruyff Shield against Feyenoord earlier this month, as well as defeating Sturm Graz 7-2 on aggregate in the previous round of Champions League qualifying.
