PSV send Rangers fierce attacking warning ahead of Champions League clash

Michael Beale’s Rangers now have all eyes firmly fixed on their huge Champions League play-off clash against Dutch giants PSV.

The Eredivisie outfit travel to Ibrox on Tuesday (22 August) for the play-off first leg match, with the second leg scheduled for next Wednesday (30 August) in Eindhoven.

And it is undoubtedly the Dutch club who go into the match with more confidence given their superb start to the new season.

Rangers

Like Rangers, the PSV have played five matches in all competitions so far, but their attacking football has helped them win all five matches so far.

And from those five matches, PSV have done their utmost to send Rangers a fierce warning, with their exciting side scoring 13 goals so far this season.

Adding to their impressive football in the final third is the fact they have conceded just three times. In stark contrast, Beale’s men have won just three of their five matches, drawing one and losing one.

And they have not been as fluid going forward as their manager would have liked, with the Gers netting nine times so far.

Rangers

At the back meanwhile they have conceded four times, again a worse record than their upcoming opponents in Europe.

PSV now sit top of the Eredivisie table after their two league games, with Rangers currently sitting sixth in the Scottish Premiership table after their two matches.

It is a massive two-legged clash for the Gers, who know they have to be on top of their game if they are to come out victorious and land a highly-coveted Champions League group stage spot.
