Leon Balogun sends three-word message to Danilo after Rangers win v Greenock Morton

Leon Balogun has sent a three-word message to Rangers teammate Danilo following the victory against Greenock Morton.

The striker scored the winner in the 2-1 Scottish League Cup victory for Michael Beale’s side at Ibrox on Saturday (19 August).

His fellow forward Cyriel Dessers was also on the scoresheet after Grant Gillespie had given the visitors a shock 1-0 lead.

Important win

It certainly wasn’t a pretty victory, with manager Beale definitely having wanted the game to be much more straightforward.

But it was an important win, and one that should give the Gers some confidence going into the huge Champions League play-off clash against Dutch side PSV.

The Ibrox club have not started the season off the way they would have wanted, but they are at least unbeaten in their last four matches, having lost their opening game of the season to Kilmarnock.

In that time, they have won three times and drawn once, with the run helping the club gather some momentum ahead of a massive couple of weeks.

The Champions League meetings with PSV should be the priority, but fierce rivals Celtic are also in the picture, with the first Old Firm derby of the season taking place at the beginning of September, with Ibrox hosting the hugely important match.
