Rangers could drop £5m demands to get Glen Kamara off books before deadline amid Leeds United transfer interest
Rangers could lower their asking price for Glen Kamara to get him off the books before the transfer window closes, according to the Football Scotland.
Writing on their official website (16 August), the newspaper report that Rangers want £5m to let the Finland international leave but so far offers haven’t been forthcoming.
With the transfer window set to close in just over two weeks, the Ibrox club could now lower their demands to ensure they get the midfielder and his wages off the books beforehand.

“The likes of Antonio Colak and Lewis Mayo have left and more will follow before the end of the window and the main one of them is Glen Kamara. The midfielder has been frozen out and Leeds are keen on snapping him up,” they wrote.
“Rangers want £5million for him but the closer it gets to the end of the window the more they might be willing to accept a bit less to get him off the wage bill given he’s not even training with the first team squad.
“Other teams are interested too but a move to England is likely to be his preferred move.”
Needs must
Rangers have set a very fair price to get rid of Kamara, who wants to leave and clearly isn’t in the manager’s plans anymore either.
But we were smart enough to make our move for replacements before we let him go and now the squad is a little bit bloated.

If a deal is to get done before the window slams shut in a couple of weeks, then the club need to be smart about it. Getting him off the books is a necessity at this point to balance things out and if that means bringing in less of a transfer fee for him then so be it.
The vast majority of our transfer business has been completed and we don’t need the cash for much more than optics now, so take less to get him gone.
Ultimately the deal needs to be done however it gets done for everyone to be happy, otherwise we’ll end up with no cash and an unhappy player on our hands.
