Michael Beale could be set to make wholesale changes to his Rangers side to give out some rest and chances for the cup clash v Greenock Morton.
The Scottish League Cup begins for the Gers this weekend at Ibrox against Championship opposition, but the team will surely have one eye on the Champions League play-off qualifier against PSV Eindhoven in midweek.
That will give the boss a chance to hand some stars rest and some other members of the squad a chance to make an impression, meaning we are likely to see a lot of changes to the team.
Jack Butland has started every game so far but Robby McCrorie is yet to secure a move away from the squad and could get a start to show himself off in the shop window.
James Tavernier notched another goal against Servette in Switzerland but he looked leggy towards the end and this could be a chance for Dujon Sterling to make his first start since joining in the summer.
Leon Balogun and Leon King are the back-up centre-back options and should get a chance to play alongside each other to give Connor Goldson and John Souttar the weekend off ahead of a huge game against PSV Eindhoven.
The boss also shared that Ridvan Yilmaz should be fit to return to action for this game, and it would be a good time to get some minutes in his legs to provide competition for Borna Barisic.
In midfield Jose Cifuentes continues to settle into the midfield and should start, while Ryan Jack can get the nod alongside him to let Nicolas Raskin rest while John Lundstram’s availability is unclear right now.
Further forward Rabbi Matondo made a surprising appearance off the bench against Livingston and did well so could start again on the left, while Kieran Dowell is capable of playing across the attack and should get the nod on the right.
Ianis Hagi is yet to make an impact this season so a start here could be the chance for him to kickstart it in his preferred number ten role, while Danilo should get the nod as the number 9 ahead of Cyriel Dessers to find the net and boost his confidence.
