Rangers transfer update as Scott Wright could remain at Ibrox for the ‘foreseeable’ – Michael Beale
Rangers manager Michael Beale has shared a fresh new twist on the future of exit-linked forward Scott Wright who could now remain at Ibrox for the “foreseeable” future.
Speaking in his Friday (11 August) press conference ahead of their Scottish Premiership fixture against Livingston on Saturday (12 August), Beale admitted that until anything changes, Wright will remain a Rangers player for the coming campaign.
The 26-year-old has been linked with a move from Ibrox all summer and looked destined to follow the likes of Ryan Kent, Alfredo Morelos, Fashion Sakala and Antonio Colak out of Glasgow, but for his expected move to Turkish Pendikspor to break down, according to The 4th Official (2 August).
With Rangers making wholesale changes in attack, which ultimately led to Sakala’s surprise departure and Colak’s exit, there also doesn’t seem to be a place for Wright also.
But in a fresh new twist, the 26-year-old could yet remain at Ibrox this season.
Beale said: “Scott Wright is a Rangers player for the foreseeable until anything changes.”
Very uncertain
It is abundantly clear that Wright’s future lies away from Ibrox this summer, as he is one of many to be a victim of the revolution currently being carried out in Glasgow with an array of new forward options leaving him waiting in the wings.
The 26-year-old in an interview with Sky Sports last month (19 July), even looked confident of a move away when he was seen at an airport travelling for talks in order to break away from his Ibrox nightmare.

That was the second time the winger was seen jetting to Turkey in an attempt to complete a move but has instead come back empty handed and it must be just as frustrating a situation for the player as it is for Rangers as they attempt to move him off their books.
Whatever Beale may have been indicating in his comments regarding Wright’s future at Ibrox, it is very clear he is not in his plans and it is now up to the player and Rangers to find the best solution for him, or he could well be rotting on the bench for another six months.
One positive for all parties is that the relationship between the player and club seems to be healthy enough that there will be continued cooperation to resolve the situation. But it’s got to be solved fairly quickly.
In other Rangers news, a windfall is on the cards at Ibrox as “lucrative” £25million news emerges.
