Manchester United and Hull City make contact with Robby McCrorie camp over deal to sign £1m Rangers keeper
All three of the clubs in the race to sign Rangers keeper Robby McCrorie have been in touch with his representatives over a deal already, according to Mail Plus.
The outlet reported on their website Friday (11 August) that Polish Champions Rakow Czestochowa, along with Premier League giants Manchester United and Championship outfit Hull City were all after the 25-year-old, who has an asking price of £1million, and the trio have all made contact with the player’s camp.
According to Mail Plus he held talks with manager Michael Beale in July “to outline his desire to progress his career away from Ibrox, feeling he has been patient enough in waiting for a chance to become established as No 1.”

Summer signing Jack Butland has taken over the starting position at Ibrox from the retired Allan McGregor, despite McCrorie’s cameo run of starts to end the previous campaign.
On his way
It is no surprise that McCrorie is ready to move on after being at the club since 2015 but only making six first team appearances in that time.
He looked decent in four outings after the split last season and looked to have put himself in the running for the top job, with McGregor’s storied Rangers career coming to an end and Jon McLaughlin allowed to leave, but it wasn’t to be.
And having kept five clean sheets from those six games, including two in wins against Celtic, Beale would no doubt be very satisfied to keep McCrorie as his primary back-up option.

If he were a few years younger then the Light Blues academy product would probably be content with stepping up the pecking order to number two, but now it will be no surprise to see him leave in the next few weeks.
The chance to be a starter in the English championship or for the Polish champions has to be attractive at his age, and after a series of loan moves within Scotland so far it would give him some longer-term clarity moving forward.
At the same time if Manchester United decide he is the man to back up Andre Onana at Old Trafford then plenty of others, including current Ibrox number one Butland last season, would take that opportunity, while Erik ten Hag’s side could afford the seven-figure asking price in their sleep.
In other Rangers news, the Light Blues may have made a notable mistake in the market in light of their opening day defeat by Kilmarnock.
