Rangers handed much-needed Champions League confidence boost as £25m news emerges
Rangers got their new Scottish Premiership season off to a miserable start, but fans will need to give the team their full backing as a huge clash approaches.
The Gers welcome Swiss side Servette to Ibrox on Wednesday (9 August) for their Champions League third round qualifying first-leg clash.
Manager Michael Beale won’t be looking beyond that tie whatsoever, even if the club’s potential next round opponents have been revealed.

If the Gers do manage to recover from their 1-0 loss to Kilmarnock on Saturday (5 August) and defeat Servette over two legs, they will take on the winner of the match between PSV and Sturm Graz in the play-off round.
According to the Daily Record (6 August), a lucrative £25million prize awaits Rangers if they make it to the group stages, a feat they achieved last season, defeating PSV 3-2 on aggregate in the play-off round.
And the Ibrox side have been handed a much-needed confidence boost should they make it to that round again, having been largely successful against both PSV and Sturm Graz over the years.

As per the Daily Record, Rangers have lost just once in eight games against PSV, when they met in the 2011 Europa League campaign at Ibrox.
Sturm Graz meanwhile have played twice in Scotland; losing 5-0 to Rangers in the Champions League in 2000 and 4-3 to Livingston in the 2002 UEFA Cup campaign.
However, Beale and his men must take nothing for granted against Servette, who have earned their place at this stage of Europe’s elite club competition after edging past Belgian outfit Genk in the second round of qualifying.
In other Rangers news, a journalist has slammed Beale live on talkSPORT as a Gers “pressure” verdict is shared.
