Rangers transfer news as Ross McCausland loan exit now on cards
Rangers wonder Ross McCausland could be set to depart Ibrox on loan this summer, with clubs from Belgium and England lining up to secure his services, according to Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.
Joseph reported on his personal Twitter account (7 August) that the 20-year-old winger who broke into the first team last season is attracting plenty of suitors as he looks for a temporary switch.
The Light Blues have been busy in the transfer market this summer making nine new signings and massively strengthening in the forward areas, possibly seeing young players like McCausland fall down the pecking order in Glasgow.
Discussing the winger’s future, Joseph wrote: “Rangers winger Ross McCausland could be set for a move on loan move this summer. The 20-year-old, who broke into the first team last season, is attracting interest from clubs in Scotland, England and Belgium.
“It’s understood Rangers would be open to a loan move.”
Good opportunity
As previously mentioned, Michael Beale has been a very busy man this summer as he completely replaced and aimed to reinvigorate his frontline throughout the summer transfer window and therefore the pecking order at Ibrox has changed somewhat.
The Northern Irish youth international wasn’t exactly a regular at Ibrox last year, only making one appearance in the Scottish Premiership Top Six Split and making the squad in the Premiership season once, but not getting off of the bench against St Mirren.

A temporary switch to any of the mentioned regions would be very beneficial to McCausland’s development as he has proven he can cut it in the youth leagues in Scotland, scoring twice in four Europa Youth League matches last year as well.
Nothing helps players get better more than consistent minutes and that doesn’t appear to be on offer at Ibrox in the upcoming campaign, with the much more established Fashion Sakala believing his future lies elsewhere so it makes perfect sense for the 20-year-old to head out on loan.
Hopefully, wherever he ends up, he’ll come back to Ibrox closer to the standard required for the first team in a year.
