Official Rangers partner reacts as Alex Lowry to Hearts news emerges
Alex Lowry’s impending Rangers loan exit to Hearts “makes sense” for all involved, according to Heart & Hand Podcast.
The official Rangers partner reacted positively via Twitter on Friday to the news that the 20-year-old winger is set to head to Tynecastle for the new season.
Chris Jack reported in The Herald that the Light Blues will have a recall option in the deal, but with Lowry’s opportunities limited at Ibrox amid more attacking arrivals this summer he is set to get the chance to impress in the SPFL with the Edinburgh side instead.
Reacting to the news via Twitter Heart & Hand wrote: “Hearts loaning Lowry makes sense for everyone.”
Correct
Lowry showed that he has plenty of potential when he first started getting first-team minutes as a teenager two seasons ago.
But in the time since fans haven’t seen enough of him despite the fact that the senior side has struggled to keep pace with Celtic with the players available.
That he hasn’t been able to forge more of a role for himself under Giovanni van Bronckhorst or Michael Beale is a concern, but if he can get some regular first-team football at Hearts this term it could be the opportunity he badly needs to show what he can do on a consistent basis.

It is surely a make or break campaign for Lowry now, assuming he can stay fit, as failure to have an impact with the Jambos will raise significant questions over the likelihood of him doing so in the future with Rangers.
And with a year left on his contract next summer he would be a candidate to leave on a permanent basis at that point if the Ibrox hierarchy isn’t sold on him by then.
However, if he can get into the Hearts team and prove he is capable in the SPFL then the youngster and both clubs will come out of the equation with the result they want, and the Light Blues will have the old cliché of a player returning being as good as a new signing next year.
In other Rangers news, Jack has suggested that Beale’s transfer rebuild is now “completed” after nine incoming transfers.
