Michael Beale omits Ben Davies, Glen Kamara, Tom Lawrence, Kemar Roofe and Fashion Sakala from Rangers UEFA squad list
Michael Beale has left six senior Rangers players out of his European squad for the upcoming qualifiers, according to the UEFA website.
Listing the squad in full on their official website, the Rangers boss has left out defender Ben Davies, midfielder Glen Kamara and forward Fashion Sakala as all three edge closer to the Ibrox exit doors.
Midfielder Tom Lawrence and striker Kemar Roofe have also been left out of the squad, but they are currently recovering from injuries and aren’t expected to be fit for the games anyway. Veteran goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin is also left out as he doesn’t count as homegrown. Scott Wright however is surprisingly in, with his exit in “major doubt“.

Decisions
Beale hinted last week that he would have to make some big decisions on his squad and that players would be left out, which would hint at their future going forward.
Lawrence and Roofe’s injuries mean it’s not a surprise that they’re missing, and Beale has been open about Kamara’s future at the club all summer.
Sakala’s absence means a move to Saudi Arabia is likely closer than it has ever been, but the absence of Davies comes as quite a surprise with little talk about an exit all summer.

Davies won’t feature against Kilmarnock in the opening game of the season and won’t play in Europe, which almost guarantees that he will be leaving before the window slams shut later this month.
Beale has proven he can make the hard decisions, and now he must prove they’re the right ones after being backed to the hilt this summer with the squad overhaul.
In other Rangers news, Euro clubs have tabled a £2.7m bid for this Rangers star with a permanent exit on the cards.
