Galatasaray contact Rangers to sign James Tavernier and Glen Kamara
Turkish giants Galatasaray have made contact with Rangers about signing James Tavernier and Glen Kamara this summer, according to TEAMtalk.
Writing on their official website (4 August), the online news outlet report that the Turkish champions have asked the Ibrox club about the captain’s availability, while also holding an interest in Finland midfielder Kamara.
Kamara will leave this month after being told to train alone, while Tavernier also has interest from former Gers boss Steven Gerrard for a potential move to Saudi Arabia according to reports.

“Turkish giants Galatasaray are looking at Rangers again and are keen on signing two of Michael Beale’s key players before the summer transfer window shuts, TEAMtalk understands,” they wrote.
“We understand that Ibrox has once again emerged as a hunting ground for Gala, with Glen Kamara and captain James Tavernier two top targets.
“Galatasaray want Tavernier on board after sanctioning an exit for Sacha Boey, who has held talks with Burnley, although it’s unclear at this stage if both players are willing to move to Turkey.”
Decision time
Rangers are quite clear that they want to get rid of Kamara this summer as he enters the final two years of his contract at Ibrox, with everyone accepting that is the case.
All we’re waiting for is an acceptable offer to be made by an interested party and he will be allowed to go, but the situation with Tavernier is obviously very different.

He is the captain on and off the pitch, but he’s also the club’s talisman and first-choice right-back who tends to be involved in upwards of 25 goals per season with goals and assists.
That is something that will be incredibly difficult to replace, but at the same time he is 31 now and the club have just signed Dujon Sterling to provide competition for the position.
If an acceptable offer is made it will certainly give the board and manager a decision to make over his future, but for now it’s just talk and everyone should expect the skipper to stay put and have another great season to try and lift number 56.
In other Rangers news, a Bundesliga club have made this Ibrox ace a “key target” ahead of a potential transfer this summer.
