Rangers transfer news as Jose Cifuentes to make move formal after Amsterdam stop off
Jose Cifuentes is expected to finalise his Rangers transfer after he stopped off at Amsterdam with an announcement now set to be made, according to Futbol Ecuador.
According to the report (3 August), the Ecuadorian midfielder is no longer part of the Los Angeles FC set up and is already formally moving to Rangers before officially finalising his move.
The Gers are set to announce their ninth summer signing according to Sky Sports News (2 August) who reported that the Ecuadorian has arrived in Glasgow to complete the switch from LAFC.

And according to Futbol Ecuador, Cifuentes made a stop-off in the Holland capital with the connection that takes him to his final destination missing.
Eagerly anticipating
There’s no question, Cifuentes could well prove to be the best Rangers signing this summer and the Ibrox faithful will be eagerly anticipating and awaiting his formal announcement which could yet be a matter of hours.
Cifuentes has been on the cards as an Ibrox arrival throughout the transfer window, with Michael Beale desperate to get a deal done this summer rather than when his LAFC contract expires in December.

The club have been looking to strengthen their midfield this summer following the departure of Scott Arfield, while Glen Kamara is also expected to leave the club soon and Beale could well be creating a stunning new midfield triumvirate between the likes of Nicolas Raskin, Todd Cantwell and Cifuentes.
It’s clear Beale and his team need some midfield dynamism and invention and Cifuentes has long been the perfect fit to fulfil those responsibilities, making 7.69 progressive passes per 90 (91st percentile) and 2.47 progressive carries per 90 (91st percentile) [FBRef].
Good things certainly come to those who wait, and the Light Blues faithful have been glued in front of their screens for Cifuentes’ arrival to be formally announced. And that official Rangers announcement is certainly not too far way now. Yet another impressive business.
In other Rangers news, one Liverpool attacker took to Instagram to send a message to new Ibrox signing Danilo.
