Rangers to finalise paperwork on Jose Cifuentes signing, four Ibrox exits possible – Sky Sports

Rangers are set to finalise the paperwork to complete the signing of midfielder Jose Cifuentes from Los Angeles FC, according to Sky Sports.

The news outlet reported on 2 August that the Ecuador international has arrived in Glasgow and is expected to sign a four-year deal ahead of his £1.2million move.

Sky Sports said the 24-year-old’s arrival is likely to lead to exits at Ibrox, with the club willing to listen to offers for midfielder Glen Kamara, Fashion Sakala, Scott Wright and Robby McCrorie.

Almost there

It looks as though Rangers’ deal to sign Cifuentes is almost there barring any potential hiccups occurring in the final stages of the move.

The player has now touched down in Glasgow and will undergo all the necessary medical checks to ensure there is no reason why the Gers shouldn’t complete the signing.

The club have made their intentions clear to sign the Ecuadorian this summer after they had previously agreed a pre-contract to sign him when his LA FC deal expires at the end of the year, but they have now moved to bring him in immediately for a £1.2million fee.

Since arriving at the LA club for a reported £2.3million fee in 2020, the midfielder has really caught the eye in his 121 appearances, where he scored 15 goals and registered 20 assists, while also playing a major role in helping them lift the MLS title in 2022.

Michael Beale will be delighted to see that the move is almost over the line as he looks to revamp his squad and forge a title challenge in the upcoming season.
