Rangers expect Fashion Sakala to exit Ibrox within days for millions – Chris Jack
Fashion Sakala is expected to leave Rangers and make his move to Saudi Arabia in the coming days, according to Chris Jack.
The Herald Scotland journalist reported on 2 August that the Zambian forward is set to exit Ibrox after “falling down the pecking order”, with the Scottish Daily Mail (page 70, 2 August) reporting that the Saudi Arabian side in question is Al-Fayha.
Jack said the deal to take the 26-year-old to the Middle East will earn Rangers about £4million as Michael Beale looks to revamp his squad.
Good business
It makes complete sense for Rangers to move Sakala on after he appears to be well out of favour following the arrival of other forwards so far this summer.
The forward had a decent record last season, though, after scoring 12 goals and laying on eight assists in 41 appearances, with several of those outings coming off the bench.
The Gers signed him from Belgian side KV Oostende on a free transfer in 2021, so receiving £4million for him marks good business by the club.

But during that time he has been largely inconsistent, having scored 24 goals and created 15 assists in his 91 games during his time at Ibrox.
This is just another necessary step Beale is looking to take as he looks to strengthen his squad by getting in the players he wants at Ibrox, so his decision will probably be backed by most of those associated with the club.
In other Rangers news, one new forward is eyeing a partnership with a fellow striker.
