Setback for Rangers new signing Leon Balogun must be taken seriously – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Rangers...
The 2022/23 season calf injury for new Rangers signing Leon Balogun must be taken seriously ahead of the new season, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert states that calves tend to be more sensitive as they come into play frequently during football.
He missed a number of games due to a calf injury and towards the end of the season, suffered a hamstring concern as well which ended his campaign prematurely.

This saw the 35-year-old feature in less than half of Queens Park Rangers’ Championship games and was re-signed by Gers after Leon King’s injury.
Discussing his situation exclusively with Ibrox News, Brar, a doctor in physical therapy and a sports scientist, said,
“Any calf injury needs to be taken seriously in my opinion because of how sensitive they can be due to the constant demands placed on them.
“As far as the club’s decision to bring him back, this might just be a situation where they need a short-term replacement and don’t want to spend significant funds on a replacement player.“

On paper, signing a familiar face in Balogun makes sense as he’ll bring much-needed leadership and experience to the team.
Michael Beale has worked with him previously during his days as an assistant so he’ll know the sort of character he’s bringing in through the door.
However, it remains to be seen how many games he does end up playing and whether or not he manages to remain fit throughout the course of the season.
In other Rangers news, the club are now battling an English side for the services of an Arsenal player set to leave this summer.
