Jose Cifuentes in Glasgow ahead of Rangers transfer announcement – Official club partner

Jose Cifuentes has arrived in Glasgow to complete his transfer to Rangers and will be announced in the “next few days”, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

Writing on their official Twitter account (2 August), the official club partner reports that the Ecuador international has arrived in the country and will become the ninth signing of the summer.

Cifuentes will undergo a medical and media duties before being announced, but it is “extremely unlikely” that he will play against Kilmarnock on Saturday in the opening SPFL game of the season.

“Jose Cifuentes has arrived and is here in Glasgow,” they wrote.

“Will be announced as a Rangers player anytime in the next few days (Basically when club are ready and after club media etc) but it’s all done.

“Signing number nine.”

Perfect

Just as Michael Beale promised at the weekend, eyes have been on Glasgow airport and Rangers’ new signing has arrived.

Cifuentes has been a top target all summer for the central midfield position and while it took longer than expected to get done, the important thing is that it has been completed.

Rangers

Having played throughout the summer with LA FC and Ecuador his fitness is not in question and it’s simply about when Beale feels he has a good enough understanding of the tactics and instructions before throwing him into the side.

Nine signings this summer is great work from the board considering the exits, and now focus must change to getting unwanted players and deadwood out of the door to balance the books and shrink the squad.

It’s been a great summer for everyone, and now it’s time to start delivering on the pitch to take our title back from Celtic and make it 56.

In other Rangers news, “extremely unlikely” that Beale favourite will play against Kilmarnock this weekend.
