Glen Kamara ready to quit Rangers for millions in next 48 hours – Chris Jack

Glen Kamara could leave Rangers in the next 48 hours with half-a-dozen clubs vying for his signature, according to The Herald.

The Scottish newspaper reported (2 August) that the title-winning midfielder could depart for £5.5million this summer with the likes of Lyon, Stade Reims and Borussia Mönchengladbach interested in the Finnish international.

Michael Beale revealed that Kamara had been training away from the rest of the first team due to the likelihood of his exit from Ibrox.

Inevitable

Rangers had been preparing for a rebuild all summer and knew that a few Ibrox familiars would make their exit from the club.

There has been speculation about Kamara’s future all summer and had reportedly demanded to leave the club earlier this summer [Sozcu], and now it looks like his demand will be met.

He was not a regular last season, having missed a large part through injury and then only made the bench in the last stretch of the campaign.

He has been through many of Rangers’ best recent heights, including their title win in 2020/21 and their Europa League final appearance in 2021/22, so despite the unfavourable end to his Ibrox career he will be remembered fondly in the long run.

Ibrox has spent a lot of money this window on eight new signings, with a ninth in Jose Cifuentes expected soon [Andy Newport]. Gaining an extra £5.5million from a player who wants no role at the club is a big boost for Rangers’ finances.

Rangers may want to consider filling the void left by Kamara, however. Most of their new additions are attacking players, including Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers, so this could be a thinking point for Beale before the end of the window.

However, Ibrox looks to be bidding farewell to a significant player in their recent history.

In other Rangers news, an approaching signing is “extremely unlikely” to feature in the Gers’ upcoming friendly in a big blow. to the fans.
