Rangers transfer news as Jose Cifuentes announcement update emerges

Rangers could finally announce the signing of LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes before Wednesday, according to Football Scotland.

The online outlet reported on its website [31 July] that the deal for the Ecuador international could be confirmed over the next couple of days, meaning it could be done by Wednesday 2 August.

Cifuentes still needs to complete his medical and travel to Scotland, meaning that the Bears are against the clock ahead of the new Scottish Premiership season.

Michael Beale has made it no secret that he was desperate to sign the powerhouse midfielder.

Cifuentes has had a pre-contract signed at Ibrox for weeks, but Rangers have only recently agreed on a fee to get him across to Auchenhowie ahead of that.

Finally.

It finally looks as though nothing is stopping this one from being complete.

Should it be announced and Cifuentes gets across to Glasgow on or before Wednesday, he should be all good to be included for the season opener against Kilmarnock.

If it is any later, you would have to imagine that he will need to wait before he makes his debut, with some critical Champions League qualifiers coming up too.

This deal also signifies the main transfer business being finished, although, with a full month left in the window, something could pop up between now and the end of August.

It gives Beale time to warm his new recruits up and get some unwanted players out of the exit door to get some funds back after some big spending this summer.

All eyes are on social media and Ibrox, as everyone gets ready for Cifuentes to be officially confirmed as a new Rangers player, we have all waited long enough.
