Fashion Sakala starts Rangers exit rumours as transfer speculation hits overdrive
Rangers forward Fashion Sakala has set the Rangers transfer rumour mill into motion with an Instagram story that some fans believe shows he’s departing Ibrox this summer.
The Zambian forward has been linked with an exit from Ibrox this summer, with a potential move to Saudi Arabia on the cards and manager Michael Beale has admitted that one or two players may depart Ibrox before the transfer window closes.
Beale has been very active in this window, signing eight players already including three recognised forwards: Danilo, Cyriel Dessers and Sam Lammers, leaving Sakala down the pecking order heading into the new season.

The 26-year-old took to Instagram late on Monday [31 July] to post a photo of him in a Rangers kit, waving, sparking suggestions that he was bidding farewell to the Gers faithful and Ibrox.
Twitter then headed into discussion over whether or not this truly was a goodbye from the striker and then a discussion over whether he had been a success in Glasgow, with one fan saying: “Fashion Sakala is a likeable great wee guy. Unfortunately unreliable and unpredictable does not win league title. Sorry but true.”
A natural progression
Sakala is by no means a bad player and in another summer, there would’ve been no doubt that he would remain at Ibrox this summer, but the revolution that Beale has begun in the attempt to catch Celtic has seen his importance reduced.
That is not a reflection of his ability whatsoever, however, the margins for error in the Scottish Premiership are so fine that Beale and the Gers cannot take any chances this summer and the Zambian is a victim of that.

Football is by no means a fair business and as one fan mentioned, possibly the striker’s biggest moments in Glasgow have been two costly missed chances against Celtic in Old Firm matches.
Beale obviously believes that his new forwards are capable of converting those sort of chances and has therefore invested heavily in them, but that comes at a price and sadly for Sakala who always gave his all, he may be the one to suffer.
Alternatively, we could all be getting far too ahead of ourselves, and this may be nothing more than a nice Instagram post of him ahead of the new campaign. We’ll have to just wait and see.
It looks like he may be on his way out.
