Rangers transfer news as Ibrox chiefs excited by Jose Cifuentes move

Rangers management are excited about finally completing a move for LAFC midfielder Jose Cifuentes, after a long and drawn-out transfer saga, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

The Rangers partner shared via their Twitter account on 30 July that Cifuentes is due to arrive in Glasgow this midweek with everything agreed for him to join.

This news has excited Ibrox chiefs, as Michael Beale had been the driving force behind getting this deal over the line, sharing via The Rangers Review Youtube channel [29 July] that he’s been “really close” to the transfer.

Finally getting it done

Following the arrival of Danilo at Ibrox, who made his debut in the club’s pre-season friendly against Hoffenheim, Cifuentes’ signing finally draws to a close two of this summer’s longest-running transfer sagas for the Glasgow side.

Beale was keen on getting deals done early, as reported earlier in the summer, to get his squad integrated with each other and into his style of play, but with the two new boys arriving with a week to go before pre-season, this may take a bit more time.

Cifuentes will be Rangers’ ninth summer signing in what has been a massive overhaul at Ibrox, with the board moving unimpeded in their backing of the boss.

Rangers

New signings will always take a bit of time to gel, so it would be unexpected to see Danilo and Cifuentes among others start against Kilmarnock next week, but bedding them in so that they can make an impact not long from now will do them a world of good.

There have been questions over Beale’s squad-building ability, but those now need to be brushed aside by a strong start to the season next week.

In other Rangers news, Chris Sutton has issued a warning against complacency at Celtic.
